Beginnings

Hi there everybody, friends, family and fellow food people!

This is a blog about my experiences at Le Cordon Bleu, a culinary school in London where I'm training with the dream of being a chef in the future. I will try my best to keep the blog focused mainly on the food and learning and take as many photos as i can, but some other aspects of my new life in a new country may sneak their way in, if its not relevant I apologize in advance.

A little bit about myself.

My name is Adam, I'm 22 years old and I'm a Kiwi, born and raised in New Zealand and very proud of it. I was very lucky to spend a lot of time as I grew up outdoors experiencing my beautiful country. Whether it was collecting shellfish from the beaches and catching fish off the rocks, or clambering over the farm looking for mushrooms, it was a typical Kiwi upbringing and I credit it for sparking my passion for food. A passion that grew on me slowly until finally I realized it was 'the' passion, and made plans to travel to the other side of the world to learn about.

Tomorrow I begin basic cuisine, I think the day mainly involves admin and things but I'm very excited to look around the school properly and receive my kit. It'll also be good to meet my new classmates, undoubtedly we'll be from all over the world.

Finally, I'd like to thank Claire for the idea and inspiration to write this blog, hopefully there isn't any overlap. You can view her blog about the patisserie side of things here: http://whiskitforabiscuit.blogspot.com/

Cheers

Adam
